Juvigné is the nearest village to Les Hirondelles, being just 1 km down the road. It is an attractive village which blazes with colour during the summer months.
In the past the village used to be associated with contraband and the smuggling of salt, but is now more widely associated with the Ville Fleurie competition. The villagers take their involvement in this competition very seriously as can be demonstrated by the fact that the 2000 population put on a show of over 35,000 pots of flowers.
The village have won the national prize several times and in 1999 won the prize for best Ville Fleurie in Europe.
The lake on the outskirts of the village is a lovely peaceful place, good for a picnic & fishing and an absolute picture when the water lilies are in flower.

Ernée is the nearest town, with a full range of shops, banks, bars and restaurants.
There is swimming and many other sporting activities on offer.
